3rd & 4th Grades
In addition to classroom activities, 1st & 2nd graders are encouraged to take advantage of other activities which promote sportsmanship, individuality and kindness.
Here are a few of the opportunities offered to K outside of the classroom.
SPORTS
Jr. Pro Football and Cheerleading Program
Students in Grades 3-5 can participate in football or cheerleading. Games are typically on Tuesday evenings. Practice will be after school. These Jr. Pro student-athletes may stay after school for a fee ($7/day) to have a snack and get homework help (until time for practice). A packet of information on both Football and Cheerleading is usually available toward the end of the school year in the spring. Please contact the front office for more information.
Cross Country (fall)
Looks like a Great Day for a Run with Coach Ray Miller. Students will practice running on campus. An ocassional meet 'against' same age-range students from other nearby schools at the school or Magnolia Springs State Park. Schedule varies.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
Accelerated Reader Program
Students in Grades 1-6 are actively reading books, passing tests and developing a love of reading. These teachers use AR effectively in varying ways.
3rd Grade Savannah Field Trip
Students in 3rd grade tour Savannah.
Weekly Bible Study
Third and fourth graders meet weekly with a community lay person to learn lessons from the Bible through songs and stories.
After-School Program
This program helps working parents who find it difficult to pickup child by 3:15. Ms. Hammett is a certified day-care director. Students need to be picked up by 5:30 (typically). There is limited space and availability. Please complete Prospective After-School Candidate Information Sheet and contact Ms. Robin Hammett. Subject to space availability and approval from After-School Director.
Music Lessons (private)
Music Director teaches piano and voice lessons on her own after school. She offers private sessions. If interested, please contact Mrs. Angela Joiner for availibility and rates.
